A pile of clay can be molded to form a solid cube with edges that measure 10 cm. What is the maximum number of solid spheres of radius 2 cm that can be made from the same amount of clay.

Sep 6th, 2014

volume of  cube = 10*10*10

= 1000 cm^3

volume of sphere =   4/3 * 22/7 * r^3

(4*22*2*2*2)/(3*7)

 = 33.52 cm^3

no of solid sphere that can be made from the cube = volume of the cube/ volume of one sphere

= 1000/33.52

= 29.83

ANSWER = 29 SPHERES
