The first unethical issue is overworking some employees. The standard working hours for
employees are either 7.5 to 8 hours a day, therefore, a total up of 37.5 hours to 40 hours per
week, that is, Monday through Friday (U.S. Department of Labour “Work Hours,” 2020). The
scenario does not outline any aspect of shift; therefore, requiring employees to work past 40
hours due to a tight schedule may be unethical. The prompt manager’s instruction for staff to
come to work on a weekend may significantly affect their personal life. It tends to be unethical,
especially since some of the employees are underworked, which forces the segment of
employees who finished their work during the weekday to come to the office on the weekend
(Shendge & Javvadi). Even though employees may come to work to prevent any adverse
consequences, for example, dismissal or laid off, their performance decrease departmental
efficiency and still increase staffing cost.
Second, a privacy breach is an ethical issue under any circumstances since it disturbs
