Question Description

  1. Contrast a theory from a personal belief. What are the practical uses for a theory, and what are the practical uses for beliefs? Which is more likely to represent a bias, a theory or a belief? Explain.

Final Answer

Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving is a theory that explains the importance of police and community relationships as a derivative to understanding the underlying causes of locality crimes. The practical use for this theory is to ensure community and law enforcement partnerships as the formidable tool in addressing surrounding localities criminal activities. Theories are normally generated by law enforcement practitioners through historical and theoretical concepts, thus, factual in nature. As to where bias is normally conceived through the use of personal beliefs that are perspective in nature, thus, producing the fallacies of biased arguments.
