Mathematics
What is the height of the pool to the nearest foot

Question Description

I need an explanation for this Mathematics question to help me study.

To find the height of a pole, you move 45 feet away from the base of the pole and note the angle of elevation from the protractor you are holding 3 feet above the ground to be 35 degrees

Final Answer

tan 35 =0.7

=h/45 where   h is height of the pole from 5 feet up

so h= 0.7 *45

       =31.5

Hence height of pole = 31.5 + 3 = 34.5

Height to the nearest foot = 35 feet
