Question 1
Data mining and text mining are comparative in their function of data analysis. Data
mining analyses structured data, which is numeric, formatted, and arises from large data sets
such as spreadsheets and databases. On the other hand, text mining analyses unstructured data
in the form of words such as emails and social media feeds to give meaningful insights, hence
a specific type of data mining. Both, however, approach analytics using different functions;
therefore, they cannot be used alone. Text mining must utilize more techniques to convert
unstructured data into a structured one that can be analyzed (Sharda, Delen & Turban, 2020).
Sentiment analysis refers to opinion mining and deals with detecting polarity in texts and
categorizing words, whether positive or negative. It relates to text mining in that they utilize
the same techniques in analysis, such as language linguistics.
