Introduction
Classical mechanics entails the study of motion bodies based on general principles,
which were first articulated by Sir Isaac Newton in Principia in 1687 (Arnol'd, 2013). It is
imperative to note that classical mechanics was the first branch of Physics to ever been
discovered. Also, it is regarded as the foundation upon which all the other physics fields are
built. It primarily deals with the motion of objects, including projectiles, machinery parts as
well as astronomical objects, like galaxies, spacecraft, and planets (Chow, 2013). With this
study, if the current state of an object is known, then it becomes easier to predict or determine
how the object will move in the future as well as how it has moved in the past, based on the
laws of classical mechanics. The initial development of classical mechanics is normally
referred to as Newtonian mechanics and it comprises of physical concepts applied as well as
the mathematical methods that were discovered by Isaac Newton, among other physics
scientists in the 17th century to illustrate the motion of bodies under the influence of a force or
system of forces. This type of mechanics has enormous applications in diverse areas of
science, including Astronomy, Chemistry, Geology, and Engineering. What is more, classical
mechanics is also of great importance outside the sciences. According to Sussman & Wisdom
(2015), classical mechanics offers extremely precise outcomes, especially when studying
huge objects that are not extremely large and whose speed does not approach the speed of
light. However, when dealing with extremely small motion objects such as those whose size
is almost the same as an atom diameter; it becomes imperative to introduce quantum
mechanics, which is the othe...
