QUALITY AND COMPETITIVENESS AMONGST HEALTHCARE

Quality is a significant factor in determining the competitiveness among healthcare
organizations. Healthcare organizations are obliged to set their quality standards higher to remain
competitive in the market (Gilligan & Lowe, 2016). However, it is necessary for organizations to
consider the cost of establishing quality services that are affordable to customers. A healthcare
organization committed to achieving excellence in quality also caters to its human capital needs
by providing job satisfaction. Therefore, organizations must consider job satisfaction factors, such
as relationships between management and employees, better remuneration, and career
advancement to maintain their workers.
Job satisfaction among employees yields motivation and encourages them to produce
efficient and effective results (Sharma, 2017). Effectiveness and efficiency are in performance are
major factors that positions an organization at a competitive edge. Providing quality services at
low costs is another factor that determines competitiveness among healthcare organizations. Thus,
organizations should consider reducing costs without compromising their customers’ satisfaction
for them to be competitive. For example, organizations should minimize costs such as those
associated with billing errors and late deliveries to help reduce the cost of services.
Explain how quality performance enhances the ability to market a healthcare
organization.
Quality performance is among the fundamental factors that highly market a healthcare
organization (Ahmed et al., 2018). Customers are always interested in the organization's
performance in delivering services that meet their satisfaction. Quality performance in a healthcare
organization is measured by a variety of factors. They include structural measures and processes
measures. Structural measures provide customers with details concerning an organization’s
systems and processes to deliver quality results (Moore et al., 2019). For example, a healthcare

organization that has employed a sufficient number of healthcare professionals will attract many
customers. On the other hand, process measures help clients to evaluate the capacity of a healthcare
organization in maintaining and improving health. In such a case, customers will evaluate the
number of patients accessing preventive services and other diagnostic tests. Therefore,
organizations with excellent processes and structural measures will attract a larger customer base
than those that lack.
