The main objective of this experiment was to determine the period is independent of the
oscillating mass bob. The experiment involved varying the mass and the length of the cord. The
variable like displacement angles was constant per every length variation. The test proved that
the mass of the pendulum bob did not affect the oscillation period, whereas the length of the cord
had a direct effect on the oscillation period.
The experiment objective was to determine that the mass of the pendulum bob was independent
of the oscillation period.
A pendulum would compose of bob suspended by a massless cord of length, L in an ideal
situation. It would be expected that when a mass would be pulled back and after that released,
the mass would swing through its point of equilibrium a maximum point that would be equal to
the height point in which the mass was released. It would return using the same path to the
original point of release. The gravitation force acting on the bob would continuously keep the
