A driver with 0.80s reaction time applies the breaks causing car to have 7.0 m/s^2 acceleration opposite direction of motion. if car is initially at 21 m/s how far does car travel during reaction time? how far does car travel while skidding to stop?

Distance travelled before brakes are applied=u*reaction time=21*0.8=16.8m

Distance covered after application of brake be s.

v2-u2=2as

s=31.5m

Total distance=31.5+16.8=48.3m
