Impacts of Shutting Down the U.S. –Mexico Border

Introduction: In the recent past, there have been debates between the U.S. congresses on
whether to shut down the U.S. – Mexico border. The discussion has been met with huge
criticisms from politicians and economists worldwide. This is because they view the decision as
one that could bring the United States' economy to standby while worsening the illegal border
crossings, which was its intention. I do not think the plan is feasible, as research shows that it
could have more negative effects than positive ones.
