Digital literacy can be described as technologically acquired skills in the 21st century. It simply
means the use of technology effectively and appropriately to acquire skills.
Having the ability to use information and technology to find, analyze, create, and deliver
information that requires thorough comprehension and technical skills, is the definition used to
describe digital literacy by The American Library Association. (renaissance, 2020)
The internet has sources that can help one determine if a website its fake. Because of the
prevalence of digital information being uploaded on the internet, there have emerged scammers
who take advantage of people who are no that familiar with the use of the internet.
If a website is phishing you, they tend to ask for crucial information like login details,
compromising information, and /or tell you some accessed your account and you need to
probably reset your password. This may happen even though you have not tried to access the
said website. They take form in a way that they appear like the original and true website.
Paying attention to the true and real URL, the connection of security indicator like the HTTP,

The reliability of Wikipedia is in the fact that anyone can create pages and/or edit them by doing

on encyclopedia and anyone who needs more information on a particular subject is on the better

3. Do people generally utilize the diversity of sources on the Internet effectively?
In this digital era, information is at the click of the finger and its accessibility is so great that a
mobile phone can be used to get the required information as fast as needed.
Academic teaching is being done on the internet and the students get to have a teacher's notes
available to them as fast as they need to. Online learning is one way people have used the
internet effectively. A student in another continent can apply for a course study that they require
form another university outside of their continent. They can achieve this by applying through
school portals and complete the course without having to step into a physical classroom.

Online shopping is another way the internet has been used effectively. There are lots of
businesses that have become multi-billion empires such as Amazon all because of the internet.
People use the internet to such for their favorite products pay for them and have them delivered
on their doorstep at their convenience.
The sources used to depend on a customer's preference and by searching thoroughly on the
internet one can get a source that best serves them.
