Assignment 1 Worksheet Due Week 6 and worth 280 points In order to complete this assignment, open the Assignment 1 tab in Week 6, and select one of the two scenario options. This business scenario will apply for your staffing plan in both Week 6 and Week 10. Note: You may create and / or make all necessary assumptions needed for the completion of these assignments. Use this outline to take your notes or to paste relevant points/facts from your references. Be sure to add the appropriate citation for all of your notes and any copied information. Conduct your research of the main topics (see bold type below) and extract key topics, ideas, facts to support the development of your plan. Place your notes below each section and include the citation with each note. Finally, arrange your notes in a logical, supporting order. When you have completed your research, you can simply use your notes to write out your plan. Whenever you use information from your notes, you will already have the appropriate citation available. Rather than copying and pasting, use the main concepts of your research and then paraphrase those concepts in your own words based on how those principles will apply to your specific scenario. Using the scenario from Assignment 1, write a six to seven (4-5) page paper in which you: 1) Identify two (2) types of staffing models that could apply to your chosen scenario and determine which model would be best suited for efficiency, productivity, and possible future growth. Examine the significant effect of each identified staffing model on processes that may be occurring within the organization (e.g., outsourcing, contingent workers, consulting firms, etc.). i) Staffing Models (write one or two paragraphs describing possible options for your business; research possible staffing models). ii) Model One (describe the first model, which you feel is a viable option for your specific business and explain why this is a possible option.) iii) Model Two (describe the second model, which you feel is a viable option for your specific business and explain why you feel this is the best option.) 2) Predict the major potential legal issues that you may encounter when establishing equal employment opportunities and diversity within the workplace while still aiming to acquire employees with the needed certifications and credentials. Next, explain the method of achieving transparency within your staffing model. Justify your response. i) Legal Issues (discuss potential legal issues related to EEO and diversity; next, in a new paragraph explain how you will achieve transparency in your staffing plan.) 3) Specify three (3) tasks that you need to perform to identify, analyze, and develop job requirements and task statements that you will include in formalized job descriptions. Next, predict the frequency with which you would need to review and adjust these job descriptions as your company progresses. Provide a rationale for your response. i) Job Descriptions: Job Requirements and Task Statements (identify and discuss three tasks you must do to identify, analyze, and develop your job requirements/task statements). Rationale: Make sure you discuss how these apply to your scenario. 4. Describe three (3) methods to deal with high employee turnover and the availability of employees with required knowledge, skills, or abilities. Next, describe the primary manner in which the described succession-planning methods would be beneficial to your company. Justify your response. ii) Describe three (3) methods to deal with high employee turnover iii) Discuss how you will ensure the availability of employees with required knowledge, skills, or abilities. iv) How will you manage succession planning to meet unexpected losses in key positions? 5. Use at least three (3) quality resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar Websites do not qualify as quality resources. Recently, your company won a contract to build and provide these remote surveillance cameras to various government agencies. The contract will begin with your company supplying these cameras to agencies within your home state. If all orders are fulfilled sufficiently, the contract will be expanded to supplying agencies outside of your home state. For the immediate future, you will need to secure a larger facility and hire more staff to sustain the first part of the contract. Organizational Staffing Plan

Staffing plan is very important for any growing and dominating company in the corporate
world. The purpose of this paper is formulating a staffing plan by the Human Resource
Management in order to ensure that the delivery of surveillance cameras to various government
agencies is enhanced while ensuring that the future growth of the company is enhanced.
Moreover, the paper will stipulate how the plan will address hiring, legal issues, the control of
employee turnover and retention and task statements via a cognitive succession staffing plan
(Heneman, 2015).
Staffing Models
In order for the company to have a successful first contract on surveillance
camera installation for the local home area government agencies, two possible staffing models
are considerable; succession staffing and Strategic staffing plans. Staffing plan can be defined as
the setting of road map that helps the company realize her business goals through mitigation of
losses, production downtimes and employee turnovers. Considering that the company will be
handling a considerably large number of employees and there is need for winning a bigger
contract, the outsourcing and control of human resources is important and hence the need for
staffing models.
The staffing models will enable the management to hire the right employees for the right
tasks in considerations of their skills and expertise in order to promote provision of good quality
services. The models will also assist in creation of short lines that make the employees feel
appreciated and as a result better performance. Moreover, the models will promote employee
retention, training programs, performance maintenance, control of employee turnover as well as

long-term, short term and succession planning in management of human resources. The approach
of the model utilizes the capturing of talents in meeting the goals of the company. The evaluation
of skills is done so as to determine if hired employees or project team has the requi...
