Running Head: EVIDENCE BASED PRACTISE

EVIDENCE BASED PRACTISE
Evidence based clinical search
The purpose of application of the evidence-based practice is to help the medical
practitioners to improve the patient care and the treatment of the patients brought to hospitals
with cases which demand critical thinking, rather than the typical procedural in which the
physicians as always depended on the treatment of similar cases (Townsend, 2014). It also helps
them not to rely on the information available in the textbooks which could be outdated,
colleagues and customs which may not produce preferred results in the present case. The
redesign of the medical procedures and practices was done by the institute of medical having
realised that there was a lot of harm to the patients which could be prevented if the health
practitioners would be allowed to implement the evidence-based. After the health care had been
allowed to use the evidence-based practice, its use had, to begin with, the question and a clinical
inquiry. The purpose of this article is to use PICOT to describe an evidence-based practice in the
aim of improving or adopting a given medication, identifying a clinical question, identifying the
factors which help in the formulation of the clinical problem, determining the number of articles
searched and retrieved ad describing them. There is also the determination of recommendation
based on the grades of the evidence-based practice and highlighting the relationship between the
levels of the results obtained from the study (Polit, and Beck, 2013).
The best model of formulating or developing the clinical questions is the use of PICO.
The clinical questions are designed because they are necessary to the health practitioner for them
to acquire the answers they seeking in a particular situation. It is, therefore, the first step taken
towards the application of evidence-based practice. According to the paradigm of the evidencebased, the healthcare providers are recommended to construct clinical questions regarding
comparison, intervention, and the outcome from a selected population (Polit, and Beck, 2013).
The nurses are also contributing conceptually to evidence-based model practice and thus
help in the implementation of the model in the advanced nursing practice. The application of

incomplete application and improved evaluation outcome is achieved through the models
available so far in the evidence-based practice. The frequently used framework is the star model.
It helps in understanding the relationship between the various involved the transformation of
knowledge. It also helps in defines the primary research findings from the outcome of the study.
It does impact the results of health medication and procedures through a series of forms and
stages by way of providing care through evidence-based practice. The model developed has five
steps. It includes evidence summary, knowledge transformation, practice integration, practice
recommendation and translation, and evaluation. In this system, the researchers are allowed to
conduct various studies and analysis and to cycle different processes available to guide and
implement quality and efficient practice improvement (Aurora, Kristo, Bista, and Rowley, 2012).
The primary focus of nursing evidence-based practice model developed by the John
Hopkins is for the nurses to use translation evidence at the bed site during their decision making
which pertains to care provision to a patient. The design of the model involved three critical stages.
The first stage was pinpointing and coming up with the practice question. The second step i...
