A research topic would and should be based on a subject of interest that you may find to be something that contradicts your beliefs and/or current understandings. For example, many would research a religion that is not of their own in which they solidify ones own perceptions of their beliefs that would prove a point and/or differences between the two chosen religious backgrounds. Other topics would include enhancing a current research with additional information, disproving others perceptions and/or understanding, as well as creating a new point of view regarding their chosen topic.
Your thesis for this research topic would also be based on the view points that you want to express throughout your research paper. More often that not, the thesis is an opening perceptive that is intended on providing the reader with information that will be provided within the paper that is being constructed. This profound opening sentence may consist of statistical facts, ones proposed and/or disproving data regarding the chosen topic, as well as information that will increase the audiances interest, perhaps a profound statement.
