How do you solve linear equations?

Consider

2x+y=4

4x+3y =10

Mulitiply first equation by 2

4x+2y=8

Subtracting this from secind equatio

y =10-8=2

2x+2=4

2x=4-1=2

x=1

You can eliminate one variable and reduce it to single equation in single unknown and then solve
