here is the question: A man has $2.25 in quarters and nickels. He has 9 more nickels than quarters. How many nickels and quarters does he have. (How do i set up the chart and solve it?)

Let number of quarters =x

Number of nickels =x+9

x*0.25 +(x+9)*0.05 =2.25

x*0.30+0.45=2.25

x*0.30 =1.80

x =1.80/0.30= 6

X+9 =15

Number of quarters =6 ; value 1.50

Number of nickels =15 ; value =0.75

Total value =2.25
