Introduction
Philosophy helps teachers in reflecting on the primary educational concepts and issues.
Its role is to outline the principles that guide the professional action using the problems and
events confronting teachers throughout their profession. This study will use personal
experiences, values, philosophical approaches, awareness, interaction with other teachers, and
the teaching environment as the sources for my educational philosophy. In addition to these
aspects, information about various educational philosophies and philosophical world views will
play a critical role in determining and shaping personal education philosophy. The K–12
education national landscape changes over the past 70 years have been crucial in shaping the
current education system. Some of these shifts include amendment of the federal policies,
increased diversity among the student population, and new content standards across the nation.
This study will focus on providing an overview of such changes and how emphasizing classroom
inclusion has resulted in changes in the expectation for teaching.
Major Historical Events and Political Issues
Various factors have played a critical role in shaping K-12 education in America over the
past 70 years. For instance, the feminization of teaching in 1930 resulted in women being
allowed to practice. According to Schmude & Jackisch (2019), the feminization process teaching
started developing differently based on the various school education levels and reached different
feminization levels over time. One of the primary reasons for the increased use of primary and
lower secondary for an empirical case study is because the feminization process started on this
level initially. Currently, women proportion at these levels is higher compared to other teaching
professions.

There was a transitioning of teaching at K-12 education from a male-dominated
organization to an increased number of female teachers in the 20th century. Over time, there has
been a slow change in the teaching profession, and the feminization degree and causes have
differed significantly. The first and second phases of significant feminization align with both
World War I and II spans. One of the characteristics includes a sharp reduction in male teachers'
numbers, but female teachers increased. The third phase occurred between 1950 and 1975. Apart
from the faster growth in female teachers than their male counterparts, there was a steep rise in
the teaching staff size. The fourth phase began in 1998 and continues up to date. The female
teachers' rate reached an all-time peak of 69.3% in 2015.
The other historical event is the Civil Rights Movement that showed the role that the
federal government could play to equalize educational opportunities for learners of color. The
case of Brown v. Board of Education in 1954 showed the need for social science reports and
federal intervention in outlining the inequity and segregat...
