The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) (Links to an external site.) is a large open community of network designers, operators, vendors, and researchers that have interest in the evolution of the Internet architecture. For this discussion, you will select a project from the IETF website and analyze the problem and proposed solution. First, go to the Request for Comments (RFC) (Links to an external site.) page within the IETF website. Within this page, click on RFC Search Page (Links to an external site.). Once you are on the search page, use key words to locate projects that you are interested in. Here are some example keywords:

Assume that the client computer has just been powered on and, therefore, is unaware of any addresses (beside the ones in its own configuration table) and that the gateways and all web servers know the addresses to all of the network layers and data link layers.

Internet protocol addresses are assigned using a dynamic or a static methodology.
Dynamic IP address entails flexibly assigning IP addresses. Using dynamic addressing, and
node attached or introduced to a network is assigned a random IP address as long as the
address does not collide with another device. Additionally, when a device is removed from a
dynamic network, it may not get the same address when re-inserted. Static addressing entails
manual assigning of the IP address to nodes. Usually, administrators set the IP addresses on
every device depending on the network segment that they belong to. When a device is
removed from a network and then re-inserted, it is guaranteed to receive the same address as
before.
In an organization, it is better to have a dynamic IP addressing scheme. Dynamic
addresses are easier to deploy and manage. Further, as networks begin to expand, static
addressing may be challenging to manage (Araujo, Bergma Leach, 2020). Additionally,
dynamic addresses are more secure since nodes are assigned new addresses after a while. On
the other hand, static addresses may be suitable when locating servers. Servers require
constant and non-changing network addresses; hence it is convenient to apply static

addressing (Hartman, 2018). Static IPs offer more speed as the network is more ‘settled’ than
in the dynamic addressing.
Ip addressing is a part of the logical design of the network. Ip address defines the logical
layout of a network and maps each device to its respective logical network (Balakumar &
