Abstract
This paper puts together the events surrounding the life of Jane Addams. As an activist and a
social worker, Jane Addams was able to achieve multiple things that revolved in and around
humanity. Her success became the success of many other individuals, including immigrants,
women, children, and minorities. In this paper, various aspects are discussed in relation to Jane
Addams. These aspects include her early life, achievements, impact on society, and her influence
in society.

1.0 Introduction
The world has, for a long period, witnessed multiple individuals who always put the interests of
others before their own. Most of the renowned free-will individuals have time and again been
associated with politics, while just a few of them have done good will without the interest in any
political governance. Regardless, such individuals still tend to be rare. A good example of an
individual well-known in history for putting the interests of others before her own is Jane
Addams. Jane Addams was a renowned activist, social worker, and author. In addition, Jane was
a Nobel Peace Prize winner who happens to be remembered to date for her foundation of the
Hull House, which enabled the reduction of poverty through providing social services and
education to immigrants and laborers (Knight, 2008). Throughout her life, Jane enjoyed helping
others and seeing people happy rather than sad.
