I was aware that it was one of the biggest political scandals in the United States. After
some men were arrested for breaking into the office of the Democratic Party at the Watergate
Hotel it was two reporters, Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, from the Washington Post that
carried out an investigation that caused all this information to come to light. They were fed key
information by a confidential informant under the code-name of Deep Throat.It was an attempt
by President Richard Nixon to stay ahead of his political rivals and stay in office as president.
Richard Nixon did this by placing surveillance on his competitors and essentially acting like he
was above the law. Nixon ended up needing to place surveillance on his competition as in mid1971 the pentagon tap...
