Description

I want my discussion bored to be on Charles W. Scharf the new CEO of Wells Fargo.

Initial postings should be 250-350 words (written or verbal), cite references in your initial postings (either the textbook and/or an outside resource), use proper APA and grammar, and the discussion should be at a critical level. Each student replies to the instructor’s initial discussion question(s) with a substantive post which is one where you contribute your ideas, add new information, pose questions, offer personal experiences to illustrate a point, or demonstrate that you understand and can apply to the course content.

this is an example of one of my classmates posts:

Over the period of few years, I have read a lot of articles about excellence in leadership and it can be in any area of business or even non-business organizations. We encounter leaders that are both good and bad in our daily lives either in organizations we work or read about leaders in articles, blogs, etc. For me personally, I would like to discuss on both John Noseworthy ex-CEO of Mayo Clinic and a very renowned face on internet Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla.

John Noseworthy is the former CEO of Mayo Clinic. Before his appointment as CEO in 2009, Dr. Noseworthy served as chair of Mayo Clinic's Department of Neurology. To bring new ideas and innovation, Mayo has a tradition of rotating leaders every four to eight years in medical departments. During his time from 2009 to 2018, he served as a servant leader (serving the organization and the staff) towards the mission of Mayo Clinic to deliver good patient care and address all patient needs. I believe Dr. Noseworthy has brought a significant change to Mayo Clinic operations by implementing changes where needed, new EHR (electronic healthcare record). A courageous initiative Mayo Clinic 2020 to address the challenges posed by ever changing policies around healthcare, ACA act, financial position, and to deliver excellent patient care for 200 million customers by 2020 by implementing a new business model, care networks, laboratories in a physician led practice. He has excellent leadership traits that a healthcare leader should have like empathy, courage, strategy, integrity and focus to drive organization towards Mayo Clinic vision. At the end of his term as CEO, Mayo Clinic is a ranked No. 1 hospital, patient satisfaction and strong financials.

Elon Musk is an entrepreneur, engineer, industrial designer, philanthropist, CEO of Tesla, SpaceX. Founder of the Boring Company, Paypal and chairman of SolarCity. From its inception, Tesla has become largest electric car manufacturer with a skyrocketing stock value. Investors love Tesla and Elon Musk for innovative ideas and great potential to expand its market to other industries as disruptors. A new survey from Sep 2019 says that Elon Musk is the most inspirational leader in tech. Musk has a vision to move away from fossil fuels and colonizing Mars. He shows empathy by working along with other engineers at Tesla and is also known for Musk foundation with sizable donations. He has a unique idea of giving back to the community in form of sustainable future and good vision.

While my selection of leaders is very different in terms of industry and operating style, I think they have made huge contributions to the industries and community on the whole.
