I have been trying to figure out how to solve a problem like this, but I can not figure it out. Could someone please explain it to me step by step?

(3,-5): 7x-6y = 5

The equation of the line is y=

I do not know whether you want the equation of the line parallel or perpendicular to the given line

Equation of the line parallel to the given line is 7x-6y =c

This passes through (3,-5)

7* 3-6*(-5)=c

21+30=c

c=51

7x-6y=51

6y =7x-51

y = 7/6* x-51/6

The line perpendicular is 6x+7y=c1

This passes through (3,-5)

6*3+7*(-5) =c1

18-35 =c1

c1= -17

the line is 6x+7y =-17

7y = -6x-17

y = -6/7*x -17/7
