This is the success of the organization which relates to the meeting of the goals of an
organization. In order for the organization to achieve its goals, it has to have good plans and
strategies, policy, as well having all the procedures in place so as to achieve the goal. (Yang, J. et
al. 2007). Criminal justice as an organization has a bigger role in the provision of justice and
crime prevention as well.
Criminal justice systems have three major organizations which include law enforcement,
court, and correctional institutions which all have a goal of justice provision and crime
prevention as well. Organizational effectiveness is the output of the organization.
Organizational effectiveness shows the strength of the organization in the provision of its
services to the general public. Criminal justice organizations play a very vital role in maintaining
peace in the community because when it acts as required, it actually prevents a criminal act
which is very beneficial to the economic growth of the country and individual progress.
The proper management of the employees is the most important for the effective operation of the
criminal justice organization. (Ryszard, B. 2014) To achieve organization effectiveness it’s
important to utilize theories of management and for the proper management of the employees.
There are several methods to exert control in the organization. The methods based upon timing
approach are described in the later section.

There is a hierarchy in criminal justice organization from the top to the bottom and decisions are
usually from the top. The hierarchy helps so much in the management of criminal justice
personnel. (Hill, C. et al. 2014). It eliminates confusion because without hierarchy, there will be
confusion and running the organization turns to be so hard. Employees abide by the decisions
which are made by their immediate bosses and this system has worked well.
Criminal justice personnel’ are usually governed by well and clearly defined rational –
legal decision-making rules which all the employees abide without any exception. This makes
the running of the organization to be much easier as legal decisions and rules help to solve any
conflict if any.


Management by objectives theory (theories)

This theory stresses the management of employees in an organization which is very
essential. Criminal justice personnel have a bigger role in ensuring that an organization achieves
its goals. It, therefore, advocate for proper management of criminal justice organization.
The management has a greater role in leading the organization so that criminal justice
personnel also follow the suit. When this happen, the organization achieves much easily its goals
and targets required. The management, therefore, has a role to play in developing ways of
measuring criminal justice personnel performance.

This actually makes criminal justice

personnel to work extra hard to avoid issues as long as the management is fair to them.

The theory stresses that an organization has to employ other management methods so as
to be successful. When the organization is big and criminal justice personnel are few, it becomes
hard to overcome organizational challenges and therefore it becomes imperative for other
methods to be included. The size of the organization matters a lot as that determine if there is
thinned of employing more criminal justice personnel in order to address the shortage.
When the criminal justice personnel are many and working closely together, then the
chances of them solving challenges usually become so hard. When the organization is large,
information sharing is affected negatively and thus the need for improvement in the
