Description

The study I am doing is on the Competitiveness Scale

I have to two test and two article summaries. I will provide the articles and what needs to be summarized.

I will attach the teachers instructions, the template she said to use for reference for writing the summaries (wants it like an annotated bib) and will also provide attachments of all the files needed to do this assignment.

First part needs to be the personality scale (there is details of what needs to be answered in that part), next needs to be the comparison scale (again all details of what needs to be answered will be attached)

Next will be the article, then the additional article.

So there is a total of four different sections of what needs a literature and test summary.

Running head: TEST AND LIT SUMMARY Background and Literature on Personality Scale Student Name North Carolina Central University 1 TEST AND LIT SUMMARY 2 Background and Literature on Personality Scale This first part is NOT an article summary. You can find all of this information on the last page of ‘Personality Test’ in the ‘Test and Original Articles’ folder. You should also discuss the background information on your scale. Please include the test title, author(s), the construct being measured, the number of items, the test structure, and the scoring information. Please indicate if the scale is for a specific population. Again, the comparison scale information is NOT an article summary. You can find all of this information on the last page of ‘Comparison Scale’ in the ‘Test and Original Articles’ folder. Look at the comparison scale and describe the number of items, the test structure, and the scoring information. The second piece of the assignment will be two article summaries in the form of an annotated bibliography. You will summarize the seminal paper on the scale that you have been given (‘Article’ in the ‘Test and Original Article’ folder). Please include the full reference of each resource in APA format, then include the annotation below it. You will then summarize a second article that investigates the psychometric properties of your personality scale (‘Additional Article’ in the ‘Test and Original Article’ folder). You need to summarize a total of 2 articles. Seminal Article Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Date of publication). Title of article. Title of Journal, volume number, page range. doi:0000000/000000000000 An annotation is just a summary of the resource that explains its usefulness in your overall paper. What is the purpose of the paper? What methods did they use? Describe the sample that was used to test the psychometrics of the item. Also, report any findings about how the item predicts an outcome or relates to any other findings. You want to make sure to include TEST AND LIT SUMMARY 3 the reliability and/or validity results that are reported. Did the author include any suggestions for how the scale could be improved? Your summary should be 10-12 sentences and only include the key information. Less is more! Do not include superfluous information. Other Article Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Date of publication). Background and Literature on Personality Scale
Competitiveness as a personality determines the course of life majorly the career an
individual adopts. In light of this, a validation study of the competitiveness index test by Houston
et al. (1991) occurred to assess competitiveness. The study focused majorly in determining the
effectiveness of the competitive index (CI) in determining competitiveness in an individual or
group. In the test, a total of 20 items test the overall interpersonal competitiveness of an individual
presenting an overall score 0f 119. Additionally, the test measured the interpersonal ability to
perceive competition within a cadre, for instance, through the inclusion of nurses and attorneys.
The test included 20 items that were measured and graded according to agreement and
disagreement on a subscale of 1 to 7 by the individual. On the other hand reverse items in the test
were ll.
From the scale, it is evident that higher scores indicated a competitive individual while
lower scores denoted a less competitive individual. From the assessment, it is evident that the test
would be utilized in assessing the personalities of an individual and suitability to a career. To
determine the effectiveness of the competitive index (CI), a total of 255 individuals partook the
test (158 nurses and 97 attorneys). Regarding internal validity, the test contained a stable factor
loading across the samples, ensuring that the data collected is valid. External validity, on the other
hand, was quantified by discriminant analysis to determine the ability of the CI in the prediction
of occupation.
Regarding the comparison scale, there was an ini...
