While doing my research about the Taínos, I noticed that most of the historical
perspectives about the Taínos are often ignored by many people while scholars have not
written much about them. Taino Indians were, before they were not, the largest indigenous
community of inhabitants of the Caribbean islands (Pitzer, 2009). While many of their
lineages have been broken, their presence remains intact in our society. The Taínos are the
Caribbean Taíno and Arawakan-speaking people who came to South America approximately
