An elevator speech is a brief, focused oral presentation used to sell or “pitch” yourself, an idea, a product, or service to a prospective employer, investor, client, customer, etc. The audience for an elevator speech may be one person or a small group and is usually someone you do not know, do not know very well, or have not seen for awhile. Opportunities for giving an elevator speech may be planned or may come unexpectedly in business or social settings.
•Develop a 2 pages elevator speech to include questions and answers for one of the following scenarios.
–An interview for your dream job or dream employer (can be in the form of an elevator speech)
–An interview for admission to graduate school
