The rapid modernization of the world’s trade after the Second World War made significant
changes to policies and guidelines that direct trade globally. The changes made tremendous
progress regarding the exchange of goods and services among affiliate trade partners within
economic zones. However, despite the significant improvements that the changes brought to the
trade practices around the world, there have been simultaneous effects on the local governments
within the countries that have laid bare the effects of globalization. Consequently, this paper seeks
to discuss the effects of globalization on local governments, how they can raise their funds, and
