Running head: GOALS AND OBJECTIVES 1 Goals and Objectives Goals and Objectives Using Bloom’s Taxonomy, the following are the goals and objectives that I am looking forward to achieve throughout my practicum experience for this course; GOALS AND OBJECTIVES 2 Goal 1: Upon successfully completing this course, I will be able to collect comprehensive data pertinent to the trends, situation, and issue. a. Objective: I will be able to identify the trends in the medical field to ensure quality care to the patients. b. Objective: I will be in a position to analyze the issues that the nursing and rehabilitation center is facing. c. Objective: I will be able to identify the situation of the nursing and rehabilitation center and come up with solutions to ensure quality care. d. Objective: I will be in a position to develop a plan that will extinguish the issue at hand and the situation that the institution is facing. e. Objective: I will be able to evaluate the progress of the institution after the implementation of the plan to solve the issue situation. Goal 2: After the completion of this course, I will be in a position to evaluate my own nursing practice in relation to the guidelines of professional practice and the rules and regulations. a. Objective: I will be able to analyze the knowledge that I have attained based on the rules and regulations of nursing practice to provide quality care. b. Objective: I will be able to interact and work with colleagues to enhance my professional nursing practices. c. Objective: I will be able to act according to what is expected of me as a nurse practitioner. d. Objective: I will be in a position to maintain an ethical practice of care delivery while using evidence-based practices. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES 3 e. Objective: I will be in a position to show respect to all in the nursing and rehabilitation center and avoid conflicts that can hinder the delivery of quality care in the health care institution. Goal 3: At the end of this course, I will be able to evaluate and make decisions that are mindful of cost, efficacy, and care quality when caring for the patients. a. Objective: I will be able to make decisions that directly involve the care given to the patient s in the institution. b. Objective: I will be able to evaluate the costs involved in the changes made in the institution while implementing changes. c. Objective: I will be able to ensure the efficacy of the decisions made to ensure that it works while implemented in the organization. d. Objective: I will be able to determine the effectiveness of the decision before it is even executed. e. Objective: I will be able to rule out plans which do not seem to be effective for the nursing and rehabilitation center. Goal 4: After successfully finishing this course, I will have the ability to analyze and advocate for policies in health care facilities that would have a positive impact on the patients and all the departments of the healthcare institution. a. Objective: I will be able to come up with policies that will have a positive impact on the organization as a whole. b. Objective: I will be in a position to analyze whether the policies will be effective once applied. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES 4 c. Objective: I will be able to examine and study which policies are effective to both the patient and the organization as a whole when executed. d. Objective: I will be in a position to analyze the negative policies and ensure that they are not implemented in the organization. e. Objective: I will be able to interact with the others in management in the advocacy of policies for the institution. Goal 5: As I finish this course, I will have the skill to research findings to constantly improve the quality of care of the nursing and rehabilitation center. a. Objective: I will be able to use the evidence collected to guide me in providing quality care in the organization. b. Objective: I will be able to analyze the findings collected and determine the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) in the institution. c. Objective: I will be able to develop plans that will ensure the proper functioning of the institution. d. Objectives: I will be able to rely on accurate and factual evidence to come up with accurate solutions. e. Objectives: I will be able to focus on the improvement of quality care being driven by the evidence collected to ensure quality care to the patients. Goal 6: At the end of this course, I will not have biasness when caring for patients. I will be considerate and sensitive to diverse cultural, personal, and spiritual needs. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES 5 a. Objective: I will treat all patients in the nursing and rehabilitation center equally and ensure that they get the best health care quality. b. Objective: I will advocate for other caregivers to provide care without biasness to all patients. c. Objective: I will learn about diverse cultures to be able to assist them in getting the best health care. d. Objective: I will be able to understand the personal beliefs of all patients and provide care based on their beliefs. e. Objective: I will embrace all people’s spiritual beliefs and provide care considering their beliefs. Goal 7: At the end of this course, I will be in a position to assess patient needs and personalize it to articulate a healthy plan for delivering quality health care. a. Objective: I will be able to determine the needs of all patients in the nursing and rehabilitation center and guarantee that they get the best quality care for speedy recoveries. b. Objective: I will be able to personalize the needs of the patients according to their specifications and level of needs to provide them with the quality care that they need and deserve. c. Objective: I will be able to articulate quality health plans for all patients regardless of their beliefs or background. d. Objective: I will be able to focus my care on patients according to what they need to ensure that resources are used effectively in the institution. e. Objective: I will be able to treat all patients equally with a guarantee that they get the best quality care. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES 6 Goal 8: Upon successfully completing this course, I will have the expertise to analyze patient health and their illness by assessing diagnoses and treatment options, which will promote health protection interventions. a. Objective: I will be able to manage all patients who come in for treatment in the institution. b. Objective: I will be able to assess patients and diagnose correctly to avoid misdiagnosis, which may even lead to worse outcomes. c. Objective: I will be able to provide the best treatment options to all patients according to their illnesses to ensure recovery. d. Objective: I will be able to promote health protection interventions by providing the best quality care which is free from misdiagnosis, which can be easily avoided by being cautious in the medical field. e. Objective: I will be able to use resources in the organization through the correct diagnosis of patients.
