What are some of the primary reasons people resist change?
In the organization, there are many reasons why people tend to resist any change. The
initial reason is the feeling that they will lose their job or position following the change. This is
because the employees stipulate that the change could fail and there the altered process that is
introduced will not be effective and successful. When a negative change takes place without
sufficient communication within the system, the employees are affected together with their jobs.
However, failure to communicate effectively with the affected people about the process leads
them to push back against the corporate changes fearing the layoffs (Shimoni, 2017).
Communication is a critical process for ensuring successful change in the organization. The
organization has a duty and responsibility to ensure proper communication with employees and
their engagement in the change process.
The other reason for resistant to change is mistrust to the leaders or the entire
organization. In this setting, employees could find it hard to trust management. For instance, a
