Outline
I.
Introduction
A. I was born in Cuba and grew up there. I came to the US 20 years ago when I
was 21 years old.
B. From Cuba to the United States, I experienced two different cultures that
contribute a lot to my growth and shape my perception towards cultures and
people.
II.
First Cultural Setting
A. The first culture that I have picked is 'Italian," under which I always wished to
grow up. I observed life is too fast in the United States, far from traditions and
traditional values and beliefs.
B. The family system is transformed that I didn't like much. I like Italian culture,
and some of its elements that inspire me include its Catholic traditions,
lifestyle, and, most importantly, family bonds of Italian people.
C. I believe that family members' presence, values, and beliefs play an essential
role in healthy growth.
D. Catholic traditions or stickiness to religious beliefs is the second most
influencing element of this culture.
III.
Second Cultural Setting
A. The second culture is in the United States. Although we moved here 20 years
ago when I was 21 years old before moving to this place, the United States'
culture inspired me.

B. Twenty years ago, the United States was not the same as it is today. I
witnessed the change in the behaviors and attitudes of people.
C. While growing, I realized that the United States is a unique place having all
powers inside it.
D. At first sight, I was happy that the place is the same as I imagined, but
thoughts have been transformed later on.
E. What I thought about the United States while growing up now wholly
changed.
F. After interaction with people and the challenges that we faced in the country, I
realize that it is not a fantasy at all.
IV.
Conclusion
A. In conclusion, both Italian and American culture are two cultures that I
perceived wrong while growing up.
B. Still, experience and knowledge of beliefs, values, and traditions of these two
cultures have changed my attitude to much extent and shape a different
perception and behavior in the real-world settings.
