A daredevil decides to jump a canyon. Its walls are equally high and 10m apart. He takes off by driving a motorcycle up a short ramp sloped at an angle 15 degrees. What minimum speed must he have in order to clear the canyon?

there is a formula 

x = (vi^2 sin 2 angle)/g 

10 = (vi^2 sin 2*15)/9.8 

10 = (vi^2 sin 30)/9.8

10 = (vi^2 * 0.5)/9.8

10 * 9.8 = vi^2 * 0.5

Now

vi^2 = ( 9.8 * 10 ) / 0.5

vi^2 = 98 / 0.5

vi = √196

vi = 14 m/s

Hence       vi = 14 m/s
