Description

Phase 2-Design (Due by WEEK 6)

Students will continue their research topic, in this paper students will perform a brief literature review on the topic (Will need at least 5 support articles) and provide the desired methodology for the project. Paper will be approximately 5-6 pages.

  • Brief literature review
  • Methodology and design of the study (Be as detailed as possible)
  • Sampling methodology
  • Necessary tools
  • Any algorithms or flow maps created

The writer provides concluding remarks that show analysis and synthesis of ideas. The topic is focused narrowly enough for the scope of this assignment. A thesis statement provides direction for the paper, either by the statement of a position or hypothesis. In-depth discussion and elaboration in all sections of the paper. Ties together information from all sources.

The paper demonstrates that the author fully understands and has applied, concepts learned in the course.

Concepts are integrated into the writer’s own insights.

Paper flows from one issue to the next without the need for headings. Author’s writing demonstrates an understanding of the relationship among material obtained from all sources. Minimal spelling and/or grammar mistakes. More than 5 current sources, of which at least 3 are peer-review journal articles or scholarly books.

Introduction

Ophthalmic surgical procedures have evolved in the past three decades and resulted in the
development of innovative tools within the field. As these innovative optical microscopes and
equipment continue to attract the interests of researchers and practitioners, it is vital to examine
the current level of evidence on how these tools can be integrated into the systems for delivering
quality and affordable care services. It is also crucial to explore the various explore experiences
of both practicing eye surgeons and aspiring ophthalmologists to identify how these tools
strengthen insights into the complexities of the three-dimensional structures of the eyes. Hence,
this phase 2 –design includes a brief review of existing studies on the use of Ngenuity in
ophthalmic surgery, and this innovative three-dimensional display tool contributes to positive
patient outcomes, including satisfaction, lower cost, reduced recovery time, and minimal
postoperative complications.
Brief Literature Review
NGENUITY 3D Visualization System has gained prominence in vitreoretinal surgery
since its introduction and approval by the Food and Drug Administration because of its higher
three-dimensional ranges, high-resolution images, and superior processing speed. According to
Talcott et al. (2019), this system provides the digital platform for ophthalmologists to access
real-time images that increase their perception of the complex eye structure and gather relevant
information about the causes of the visual impairment and relevant corrective procedures. The
evidence from the literature on the features of NGENUITY that supported its acceptance as the
right tool for ophthalmic surgery also includes the multiple displays of the preoperative

examination results, which enhances the decision-making capabilities of surgeons and reduce the
duration of the surgery (Moura-Coelho, Henriques, Nascimento, & Medeiros, 2019). In a
nutshell, NGENUITY 3D Visualization System is surgical equipment with immense potential to
improve patient outcomes, the efficiency of surgical procedures, and reduction of postoperative
recovery time.
Furthermore, multiple studies have published the experie...
