PART A
Environmental influences that affect the organization.
1. Globalization
According to author Gary Dessler, globalization is “the propensity of firms to extend their
sales, ownership, and or manufacturing to new markets abroad” (Dessler, 2013, p.7). With the
prevailing technology as well as expansion of businesses providing services in the global arena.
It has both negative and positive effects. Negative impacts include the increased management
burden which can be curbed by bringing in mechanization. Positive impacts include the
increased revenue which can be used to grow the business.
2. Demographic trends and consumer research.
Demographic trend usually reveal the current trends related to changes in population’s age,
gender, the geographical location, technology, marital status, income and many more. The
positive thing about the demographic trends is that it enables a business setup to keep at par with
the emerging issues to ensure that it is highly competitive. Negative part is that some trends may
not be well sustaining to the business towards achieving its plans. The business should therefore
be careful towards change emerging and look into the change effects.

3. Economic challenges
According to Gary Dessler, “All these trends are occurring within the context of economic
turmoil” (Dessler, 2013, p. 10). Deregulation is an economic impact bearer that enhances
globalization. These economic challenges of inflation, unemployment comes in handy with

globalization. This is because of the maximum use of technology which brings up
mechanization. Organizations thus should bring in creativity to curb these challenges. The
positives include also creation of jobs. Innovations to curb the challenges will create new jobs.
