Introduction
An internal auditor usually tests established procedures and processes to ensure
operational efficiency within the company. Mainly, at the branch level, an internal auditor's
job involves conducting internal audits to establish whether business controls are effectively
and sufficiently executed in accordance with government procedures and regulations. For
instance, as a branch auditor, I will have to evaluate activities and functions is assigned
departments or areas to determine the nature of the operations and the adequacy of systems to
achieve established goals. I will also have to decide if all departments are carrying out their
accounting, planning, custodial, and business control activities in compliance with the
management's instructions, policies, and procedures. Additionally, as an auditor, I will have
to recommend improvements and corrective actions and report to a manager or supervisor.
