Remembering the Fallen at Songshan
http://taiinitiative.org/remembering-fallen-songshan/
The blog talks about the memorial located in Songshan, southern China. Designed to be a
tourist attraction site, the memorial site is strategically located on the same spot where the
Chinese fought the Imperial Japanese as they defended the Huitong Bridge. The memorial is
built in a way that shows the formation of soldiers during the Second World War. The memorial
is an impressive work as well as an important historical monument for the Chinese people. It is
an indication of the dedication of soldiers who are long gone towards ensuring China's
prosperity.

To most Americans, Memorial Day serves as a day to remember and respect the soldiers who
lost their lives during the Second World War. In his film, The Fallen of World War Two, Neil
Halloran brings to light the number of lives lost during the war. The purpose of the film is to
show people the damaging effects of war. The film also reveals that there has been an extended
period of peace since 1945. The film highlights the importance of maintaining "long peace" by
reminding us of the number of people who died to bring forth a world where countries do not
hate each other.
Aiming for Balance: Part 1
http://taiinitiative.org/aiming4balance-01/
American and Chinese interactions go beyond political and economic aspects. People
who have experienced the history of the American-Chinese relations have seen both countries
evolve to accommodate and tolerate each other. Human beings are prone to fear and biasness,
whereby some opt to blame their culture and upbringing for their mistakes. Both cultures need to
dive deeper into ethics and understand how to solve moral dilemmas. Finding a balance between
economic growth and maintaining human behaviors such as integrity, kindness, patience, and
loyalty is equally important.

leaders and understand what people need to improve their lives. The Chinese immigrants in
America had the perfect chance to do all this before the Maryland primary election of 2016. In a
well-organized and planned meeting, the immigrants laid a good foundation for themselves and
generations to matter politics.
Memorial Day in a U.S.-China Relations Context
http://taiinitiative.org/memorial-day-2015/
To most people, Memorial Day is a reminder of the number of people who lost their lives during
the Second World War. However, it also marks the historical association between the Chinese
and the Americans against fascism. While many Americans celebrate Memorial Day in respect
of American soldiers only, The Tai Initiative has created monuments that incorporate
American and Chinese soldiers. This is aimed at educating the people on the history of the
relations between the Chinese and Americans and ensuring that both countries' efforts during
World War Two are not forgotten.
