During World War I, the Germans had a gun

called Big Bertha that was used to shell Paris.

The shell had an initial speed of 2.05 km/s at

an initial inclination of 71.7

to the horizontal.

The acceleration of gravity is 9.8 m/s

This is the case of projectile motion and the time for which the shell was in the air can be called time of flight.

Time of flight t=2 u sin theta/g

Given:initial speed=u=2.05km/s

        =2.05*1000m/s

        =2050 m/s

Theta=71.7°

g=9.8m/s^2

t=2*2050*sin 71.7°/9.8

  =4100*0.9494/9.8

  =397.197 seconds

  This is the fimal answer.
