A marble is fired horizontally from a launching device attached to the edge of a tabletop which is 94.0 cm above the floor. The marble then strikes the floor 2.35 meters from the edge of the table. Show your work please.

h = 94 cm = 0.94 m

X = 2.35 m 

h = 1/2 gt^2    then

t  = √2*h/g

t = √2 * 0.94 /9.8

t = 0.44 sec

Now 

X = Vx * t                 where Vx is the horizontal veloccity

Now 

Vx = X / t

Vx = 2.35 / 0.44

Vx = 5.341 m/s

Hence the horizontal velocity is 5.341 m/s.
