The Kalam Cosmological Argument was originally used to defend the Islamic faith.
What separates this argument from other cosmological arguments is that it is based on the
concept that the universe has a beginning, whereas other cosmological arguments are based on
the universe having an infinite past. Because Kalam posits that everything exists because it is
caused to exist, both the Big Bang Theory and the God theory can fit into the Kalam mold. One
argument for the Kalam is that because of the Big Bang Theory, the universe has a finite past.
Therefore, I do not think that the Kalam Cosmological Argument proves or disproves the
existence of God.
