An empty propane tank dropped from a hot air ballon hits the ground with a velocity of 150 m/s. What is the height of the balloon?

How can I find the height?

The question is incomplete. You need the time taken to reach the ground to find the height. Then by using the equation,  Distance (s) = 1/2 x a x t^2, we can find the height.

The "a" is the acceleration. But due this situation being free fall, "a" equals "g". That is acceleration due to gravity. This equals approx. 10 m/s^2.
