Description

Write a 10–12-page traditional Literature Review on the topic you have been researching throughout this course. You must incorporate a minimum of 10 articles, including the ones used for the Topical Reference List as well as the quantitative and qualitative articles you reviewed. This review must be a focused synthesis of findings in the literature. Thus, you will organize your discussion around themes that emerged in your review of the literature, rather than simply summarizing study after study.

Include the following elements in your review:

  1. Title page
  2. Abstract and keywords
  3. Body
    • Introduction
    • Discussion of key terms
    • Review of the literature organized by themes
    • Conclusion/Summary
    • Reference list

Format your Literature Review in current APA style. As you complete this assignment, consult your textbook. Also, see the Literature Review Grading Rubric for the specific grading criteria.

Abstract
This literature review analyzes the numerous researches works from various nations which test
students’ performance basing on the features inside the classroom. These research works make
evaluation and explanation of particular features of classrooms while emphasizing on how
effective they are towards the learning process as well as learning outcomes. Factors like seat
arrangement, temperature, light, acoustic, and color are looked over in order to decide how
effective they are on students’ academic performance in classrooms. Additionally, in order to
understand these findings, presentation of the reversal theory of paratelic and telic motivation has
been made. The outcomes indicates partiality for a learning environment that prompted a telic
motivation state in the students. Therefore, classrooms features should neither be arousing nor
sidetracking in order to ensure student perform well. In addition, seat arrangement, temperature,
and noise are the most influential factors regarding students’ performance. However, there lack no
concurrence on how some specific features impact learning results, Therefore, there is need for
more research to come up with more firm conclusions and recommendations.

Introduction
In following some of the research work done before, this literature review seek to explain
some of the physical factors and their effects on academic performance for a typical classroom.
Moreover, the paper reviews how students are affected academically. Also, this include identifying
which key elements play the most significant role, which ones play smaller roles and identifying
if there exists dispute among environmental psychologists regarding this topic. The following
sequence will be followed in evaluating these classroom features: seat arrangement, light,
acoustics, temperature, and color. In the end, this literature review will reveal effects of every
feature on the process of learning and academic achievement in light of telic motivation
framework.
Seat Arrangement

According to Gremmen et al., (2016), seat arrangement is one of the main methods applied
by teachers in ensuring high performance. Their research was incorporated with a lens model
approach which is a probabilistic depiction of how individuals perceive and use surroundings
prompts to come up with conclusions in inferences about the surroundings (Gremmen et al., 2016).
Tutors and students, who make evaluation of physical features of a classroom, may not at the initial
peek be related to problems related to performance in academics. Consequently, Yuan et al.,
(2017), at the starting point of their research made changes to a lens model in order to fit their
needs. Both teachers and students in this research explained how suitable the learning room was
and how much they preferred being there. Additionally, Yuan et al., (2017), give explanation on
how overall partiality and friendliness was expounded in the questionnaires. They defined
partiality overall as international ranking of factors considered crucial to the learning environment.

On the other hand, friendliness was explained as the degree of comfort or how warm the learning
room is.
Every person who was selected to participate was presented with two images of 35 different
learning rooms, and they made evaluation on the scale that had been described to them. In surprise,
three features of the learning rooms gave explanation between forty and fifty seven percent of the
variance in evaluating overall partiality and friendliness by both tutors and learners. Moreover,
other features which were noted included comfortable seats and outdoors view. To their surprise,
students went for comfortable sit which vary from what we understand: teachers prefer seating on
comfortable seats to mark their higher status. However, Yuan et al., (2017) discovered that
classrooms users did not consider things like aesthetic complexity, size of the room, or its
brightness.
Consequently, Yuan et al., (...
