Whistleblowing is an individuals' process of reporting to the public concerning the
immoral or illegal activities they find within their organizations. The employees find it’s
challenging to convey the unlawful practices to the public because they need to balance their
potential advantages with the organizational loyalty when looking for a solution by exposing the
organizations to the public (Culiberg, 2017). Illegal practices such as theft and sexual harassment
can easily be known to the employees; hence they can take action. However, some cases are not
apparent to the employees; thus, they need in-depth scrutiny. In such an instance, the
whistleblower is supposed to be conversant with the company's ethics codes before reporting the
spotlight's claims.
The employees should analyze their motivation factors from the company to ensure they
do not conflict with their interests. There are some situations where the whistleblowers have
financially benefitted by reporting the public's illegal practices (Pittroff, 2014). The public role
should not be intended for revenge nor financial gains. Still, their interests should be analyzing
the principal idea of developing a more effective action towards the organization. The potential
