Evidence-Based Practice:
Evidence-based practice is an analytical approach to deliverance healthcare that assimilate on
substantiation from studies and patient care records. By applying this approach in the context of
nursing, excellence in care quality and superlative patient results can be attained (Melnyk,

American, 2010). To implement, promote and sustain the evidence-based practice, the steps I
would take as a nurse are


Promoting and following the spirit of inquiry is the first step in the promotion of an
evidence-based approach. To solve the healthcare problem, nurses need to ask the right
question correctly and adequately. It implies that nurses need to follow a systematic
approach while solving clinical issues as they lead to the best evidence that will
eventually guide in making the best decision (Melnyk B. M., 2009).



Promoting PICOT format for clinical questions: Inquiries conducting through employing
the PICOT format consider the patients' Populations of concern, Interference or
concerned area, comparison, outcomes, and result. Through this framework, the
electronic database can be proficiently explored (Riva, 2012).



Search for best evidence: When PICOT format is employed, the exploration of evidence
to inform clinical practice becomes efficient. PICOT helps identify keywords, which,

significant, so positive impacts can be reassured, and negative ones can be avoided.



Distribution of EBP: Sharing of experience is significant for the successful and
sustainable implementation of EBP. Through experience sharing, nursing and clinicians
can save a lot of time and reduce the cost involved in duplicating the process.

Conflict is common in all workplaces globally, and the healthcare community, specifically
nurses, is not excluded from it. However, managing conflict on the unit is essential to condense
the negative consequences (Moeta, 2019). The approach I would follow to resolve the conflict is
compromising and collaborating between the two parties. Compromising strategy allows the
nurses to be in one another shoe's and helps reach the solution that is positively agreed upon by

both parties. On the other hand, collaboration allows the nurses to integrate others' impressions
into their own.
However, before initiating the conflict management, I will consider my attitude and knowledge
about the conflict. I will ensure that I exhibit an attitude that is positive and understands the
stance of both parties. Furthermore, I will carefully monitor my communication style as good
communication with the right knowledge is critical for solving the conflict on a positive node.
While documenting the scenario of conflict, the focus will be on the nurses' manners rather than
on their personalities and backgrounds (Ramsay, 2001). If, in the case, while negotiation the
issue doesn't seem to be resolving than it is better to ask for the assistance of someone who is in
higher authority to myself, and is considered respectable among the members of the unit either
because of their position, authority, experience, or personality. Furthermore, apart from having a
mediator on board, the Nurse Advocate should also be involved and informed about the whole
scenario, as they ensure job satisfaction for every employee.
