Innovation is important in one's day-to-day life, and it may come in different ways. As one
moves from one aspect in life to the other, there are skills and competencies required to get
through successfully. Therefore, I strive to have an innovative mind when developing my
discovery skills to ensure that I harness the right skills and competencies. This action plan is
aimed at assisting in the process of developing my discovery skills, and it contains specific
activities and practices that help motivate the right skills. This plan also captures the different
aspects of an innovative mind that enable wide thinking.
While developing my discovery skills, I will employ the Innovators' DNA to identify my
specific innovative skills. The five discovery skills play an important role in decision-making
and the creation of an innovative leader (Dyer, Gregersen, & Christensen, 2011). They
provide the right mindset in the process of decision making that improves innovative ideas.
My strengths are a sense of control, risk tolerance, and a growth mindset.
