1. What is the difference between the forces for change and planned change? How can
organizations overcome resistance to change? How can managers create a culture
for change?
Organizational change entails the reform or modifications to the way an entity functions.
These reforms are always prompted by some underlying elements, known as forces for change.
There are five major forces of change that might cause organizational change and include;
demographic, social, political, technology, and economic. Specifically, a fluctuating work
demographic might force a change in organizational culture. Also, changing social patterns can
prompt entities to make changes in their production and marketing. Political forces arise when
the government imposes restrictions and enact policies and legislations that may prompt
organizations to make changes to comply with these policies (Sroufe, 2017).
The technological environment keeps changing and organizations are often required to be
up-to-date with these changes. Therefore, when this environment changes, entities are always
forced to change their culture and structure to be at-part with the technological environment.
