Known as one of the most excellent writers and philosophers in the 1900s, Ayn Rand was
an exceptional woman in her field. Her novels achieved millions of sales. In the novel Atlas
Shrugged, Ayn Rand argues that individuals have the right to live entirely for their interests, and
there should be a complete separation of state and economy. That is, no state control over the
economy. Rand claims that government intervention should be limited because they lead to an
inefficient allocation of resources (Rand, 2005). She adds that the government is liable for
