Description
You are working in a child welfare agency and have been assigned a case of a child who is refusing to go home from the hospital. Terrance Scott, age 12, was admitted to the hospital about ten days ago for attempted suicide. He is ready for release but is terrified of returning home. Although the hospital social worker has spoken with him, he did not disclose why he is afraid to return home. The hospital social worker called in the report, as he is concerned that there is more to the situation than Terrance has disclosed. The hospital social worker recommended that the family attend counseling, but the family did not appear interested, nor have they made a commitment to go.
