What is the trigonometric ratio for cot0 ?

An airplane is flying 10,000 feet above the ground at an angle of depression of 15°. How far must the plane fly in order to land? Round your answer to the nearest foot.

A ladder is leaning up against a 10-foot wall at an angle of elevation of 65°. How long is the ladder? Round your answer to the nearest tenth of a foot

1.cot 0 = 1/ tan0 = 1/0  undefined or + infinity

2. We use sin 15 = vertical/ hypotenuse

Hypotenuse = 10000/tan 15

                    = 10000/0.2588

                       =38640 feet

Airplane has to fly 38640 feet to land to the nearest foot

tan 65 = vertical/horizontal

3. horizontal = vertical/tan 65 = 10/2.1445 = 4.66 = 4.7 feet 

The foot of the ladder is 4.7 feet from wall
