Introduction
Health promotion and education are among the building blocks of healthcare system.
Health education is a cornerstone in the effective implementation of public health programs and
health teaching is an integral component of patient management. As such, becoming an effective

the core learnings from the nursing course on Nur 39401 - Health Promotion and Education include

help an individual become an effective health educator in any healthcare setting.

Improvement in Attitudes Towards Health Literacy
Level of health literacy is indicated to be correlated with utilization of healthcare services
and healthcare expenditure. According to the data published by the Center for Health Care
