Schizophrenia is a mental disorder which is characterized by distorted perceptions and thoughts.Anxiety disorders results to individuals responding to certain situations with fear and dread. Eating disorders involve severe emotions and attitudes alongside with unusual behaviors that are associated with weight or food.Personality disorders on the other hand are characterized by long-lasting rigid patterns of thought and behavior with maladaptive patterns (Zarit & Zarit, 2010).
These mental disorders may be manifested through the abuse of drugs and alcohol, the inability to cope with daily problems, poor performance in school and the frequent outburst of fear.They may also be manifested through loss of interest in friends (Zarit & Zarit, 2010).
