Introduction
Companies have faced struggles for their entire time of existence, and the same is
witnessed even in the current world. How a company deals with a situation relies upon the
leadership strategy a company has employed to deal with such step backs. Even the most giant
corporations in the world started from scratch and realized how big they could be by looking for
market opportunities present to them. You see, sometimes, you might not know when an
opportunity is presented to you without proper leadership. Of course, you will need small
adjustments from here to there, but you have a be keen on business to be successful.
Company analysis/ Comparison
Companies change throughout their lifetime. Be it a new management team or CEO,
merger or acquisition, or implementing a new strategy. Good leadership is vital in such transition
times alongside any business day. As an organizational capability, leadership is vital in going
through business strategy, change implementation, and innovation cultivation. It is evident that
there was and there still is a transformational style of leadership for both companies. Both the
two businesses have undergone many changes, from acquiring new markets to product changes
to suit the customer's desire. Transformational leadership is evident in Jollibee when it changed
from Jolibe to Jollibee to mean 'Jolly Bee.' It also learned from its competitors while not
throwing away its origin (Sandhya, 2018). MacDonald's, for instance, is a company that Jollibee
learned a lot from. PwC, on the same note, shifted from the efficiency of operations to growth.
Conversations and Stakeholders have also changed (Stuart, 2015).

PwC operates on two rules, inclusiveness and diversity. The company took the servant
leadership style, where it included all the stakeholders in the decision making. With the main
focus being diversity, the company saw it wise to look for opportunities in the market while
working together with its stakeholders to achieve its success. Opinions are taken from everyone
involved in the company's operations and are considered when making changes for the firm. It
may not be possible to have this leadership type if the company never put diversity in the
workplace its top priority ("Diversity Journey", 2020). People from different regions have
distinct ideas, and if such ideas are put together to better the firm, success is realized. This is how
PwC achieved its success through this path that it chose.
On the contrary, Jollibee employed a participative leadership style that requires input
from all the employees that result in decisions reflecting the majority's views. It informed every
involved party of the necessity to decide and even got a suggestion to change the name but
decided to add another 'L' and 'E' so that it can mean something to the Philistines. The employees
in this organization felt motivated with increased morale to perform because they believed they
were much involved in the company. Ensuring customer satisfaction was crucial, and this opened
a new way for growth for Jollibee (Bartlett & O'Connell, 1998).
Conclusion
Companies often change to fit the requirements and needs of customers for that specific
time. For most organizations, having a transformative leadership style can help realize success in
times dominated by competition and fast changing world, especially technology and its
advantages. A lot of commonness can be deduced from these two companies, and for whatever
its worth, they succeeded due to good leadership.
